Niki’s
collection skywalking won a Special Commendation
in the 1997 NBDC/NCB Awards. Her work has been published
in the Jamaica Observer and she has performed at
the Poetry Society’s monthly Fellowship and
taught at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative
Arts. Ms. Johnson currently serves as Chief Judge
in the category of poetry for the Jamaica Cultural
Development Commission.
She was one of fifteen writers who performed at
the 2000 World Expo in Hannover, Germany for the
Anna Blume Project in celebration of the artist/poet
Kurt Schwitters. Her work is published in the two
anthologies created by the Project, which presented
poems from over 150 nations in close to 100 languages,
each reproduced in their own script.
