Born
Allen Hope in 1952 Mutabaruka is perhaps Jamaica’s
most famous living poet. He is also a recording
artist and host of The Cutting Edge, a talk show
on Irie-FM. His collections of poetry include Outcry,
Sun and Moon and The Book: First Poems. He emerged
on the music scene in 1981 with the release of the
single “Every Time A Ear De Soun’.”
Check It, his first of many albums, was released
by Alligator Records in 1983. Program:
